Tallink Silja Line
Viking Line
Eckerö LineTallink is the fastest and most frequent option, crossing in 2 hours with 6 daily departures. Viking Line takes 2 hours 30 minutes, but docks at the central Katajanokka terminal with day return fares from €14. Verdict: choose Tallink for speed, Viking Line for a cheap day trip.
Eckerö Line has the cheapest tickets, from €15, with the car priced separately by vehicle size (or free on the 6-hour mini cruise), and departs from the same Helsinki terminal as Tallink, Länsiterminaali 2. Tallink is faster and more frequent, crossing in 2 hours with 6 departures a day, and has its own from-price for cars at €22 one-way. Verdict: bring a car and save with Eckerö, travel fast with Tallink.
Viking Line is about 45 minutes faster and docks at the central Katajanokka terminal, rather than the more distant Länsiterminaali 2. Eckerö Line counters with the cheapest tickets on the route, from €15, plus a free car space on its 6-hour mini cruise. Verdict: no car, go with Viking Line; travelling by car on a budget, choose Eckerö Line.
